The event itself may
- be large or small, formal or informal

- include a live auction, raffle, or big board
Volunteers solicit the non-profit's members and local businesses to:
- help underwrite the event
- donate items to be auctioned
- purchase tickets to attend and buy auction items
As guest arrive at the event they check-in to obtain
- an event program/auction catalog
- a name tag
- seating (table) assignment
- live auction bid paddle
In the Auction Area:
- Items are displayed on tables with a corresponding "bid sheet."
- Guest "sign" the bid sheet to indicate the amount of their bid.
Items are sold to the highest bidder during checkout. Guests must wait for all tables to close for invoices to be tallied and for checkout to begin. The AuctionStar® System helps you with all aspects of a silent auction.
