System Requirements

As specified in the license software agreement, your organization needs a person who is familiar with Microsoft Windows applications to operate the AuctionStar^® software. Any IBM compatible (no Macintosh) computer running the following will run AuctionStar^®:

• 166 MHz or higher
• 32 (preferably 64) MB of memory
• 100MB of free disk space;
• CD-ROM and floppy drives to install software.

(Laptop computers that cannot support both drives simultaneously are adequate, since the floppy disk is not needed until after the CD-ROM installation.)

For a desktop computer, a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) is essential—without one, be prepare for possible data lost or data corruption. Most systems will be fine with a 450-500 VA unit and some could probably function with a 300VA unit (recommended brand: APC). UPS units are sold at Sam’s, CompUSA, or via mail order.
